Mellow Man Ace (born Roy Reyes, December 26, 1967) is an American hip-hop artist best known for his 1989 hit single "Mellow Man Ace," a novelty song blending rap with a distinctive mariachi vocal style. Initially signed to Capitol Records, he rose to prominence as part of the Latin hip-hop movement of the late 80s and early 90s.

Before his solo success, Reyes was a member of the group The Latin Def Club, alongside Kid Frost. His self-titled debut album, released in 1990, featured collaborations with artists like Art Laboe and explored themes beyond the novelty of his initial hit. While “Mellow Man Ace” peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved gold certification, his subsequent singles demonstrated a more traditional hip-hop approach.

He continued releasing music throughout the 90s and 2000s, including albums like *Heartbreak Hotel* (1993) and *Nothin But The Truth* (2006).
