Matt Cook is a Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, gaining prominence for his blend of Americana, roots rock, and soulful vocals. Originally from rural Manitoba, he honed his skills playing in various bands before launching his solo career in the early 2010s. Cook's sound is characterized by honest lyricism, often exploring themes of working-class life, love, and loss, delivered with a raw emotionality reminiscent of artists like Townes Van Zandt and Ryan Adams.

He independently released several EPs before his debut full-length album, *Matt Cook*, in 2017, receiving critical acclaim from publications like *Exclaim!* and *CBC Music*. His follow-up album, *Broken Television* (2020), further solidified his reputation as a compelling storyteller. Cook has toured extensively across Canada, supporting acts like Corb Lund and The Bros. Landreth. He’s known for captivating live performances showcasing his guitar prowess and genuine connection with audiences. In 2023 he released “The Ballad of the Mountain King” which continued to garner positive reviews for its songwriting & production quality. He continues to write and record independently from his base in Winnipeg.
