Matilda Lloyd is a British trumpet player rapidly gaining recognition for her innovative approach to both classical and contemporary music. Initially trained classically, achieving a First-Class Honours degree from the Royal Academy of Music, Lloyd quickly expanded her musical horizons. She’s become particularly known for her looping and effects-based performances, creating richly textured soundscapes entirely live using only her trumpet and a collection of pedals.

Lloyd’s debut EP, *Outside In* (2021), established her signature style – a blend of ambient textures, jazz improvisation, and electronic elements. She's collaborated with artists like Rival Consoles and Tourist, further showcasing her versatility. A key accomplishment includes being selected as a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist (2022-24), leading to performances at prominent festivals including Cheltenham Music Festival and appearances on national radio.

Her work consistently receives critical acclaim for its originality and technical skill, challenging perceptions of what the trumpet can achieve.
