Mateusz Pałka is a Polish multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer renowned for his work spanning progressive rock, metal, and neoclassical styles. Initially gaining recognition as the drummer for the acclaimed progressive metal band Riverside, Pałka contributed significantly to their sound from 2005 until the band’s indefinite hiatus in 2016 following the tragic loss of vocalist Krzysztof Szmańda.

Beyond Riverside, Pałka has cultivated a prolific solo career. He's released several instrumental albums – including “East West Suite” (2017) and “Summerland” (2021) – showcasing his virtuosity on drums, piano, and other instruments. His compositions often blend intricate rhythmic structures with atmospheric textures and melodic depth, drawing influence from artists like Keith Jarrett and early Genesis.

Pałka is also a sought-after session musician and clinician, frequently appearing at drum clinics and workshops internationally. He’s endorsed by major drum manufacturers like Tama and Zildjian. His work demonstrates a commitment to technical skill alongside emotive musical storytelling, establishing him as a prominent figure in contemporary progressive music. He currently performs with Anathema's Vincent Cavanagh in the project "Kavka".
