Martin Meixner is a German composer and performer specializing in contemporary classical music, particularly known for his work with the tuba and extended techniques. Born in 1978, he studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München with Norbert Kessler and subsequently at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.

Meixner’s compositions frequently explore the sonic possibilities of unconventional instrumentation and microtonality, often blurring the lines between composed and improvised music. He’s a highly sought-after soloist, performing extensively across Europe and North America with ensembles like Ensemble intercontemporain, Klangforum Wien, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

He's received numerous awards including the Siemens Foundation Composition Prize (2014) and fellowships from institutions like the Akademie Schloss Solitude.
