Mari Froes is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist renowned for her innovative blend of Brazilian folk music with contemporary electronic and jazz influences. Born in 1983, Froes initially gained recognition as a member of the acclaimed Brazilian band, Mombojó, contributing vocals, guitar, and percussion from 2001-2013.

She launched her solo career in 2016 with the critically lauded album *Porto*, showcasing her distinct vocal style – often described as ethereal and haunting – and experimental approach to arrangement. Her music frequently incorporates field recordings and found sounds alongside traditional instruments like the cavaquinho and berimbau.
