The Marcin Wasilewski Trio is a renowned jazz group from Poland, formed in 1993. The trio consists of Marcin Wasilewski on piano, Slawomir Kurkiewicz on double bass, and Michal Miskiewicz on drums. Originally known as the Simple Acoustic Trio, they gained recognition as teenagers for their mature interpretation of jazz standards.

The trio's style is deeply rooted in the tradition of lyrical jazz but with a modern edge that sets them apart. Their music is characterized by its emotional depth, melodic inventiveness, and complex yet accessible rhythms. They are known for their sensitive interplay, creating an intimate musical conversation that captivates audiences.

In 2001, the trio began collaborating with famed Polish trumpeter Tomasz StaƄko, which catapulted them onto the international stage. Their debut album under ECM Records in 2005 titled "Trio" was highly acclaimed for its fresh approach to jazz and marked them as one of the most promising young ensembles in Europe.

Since then, they have released several albums including "January" (2008), "Faithful" (2011), "Spark Of Life" (2014) and "Live" (2018). Each recording has been met with critical acclaim and commercial success, solidifying their place among the leading groups in contemporary jazz.
