Luz Casal, known professionally as Luz Canto de Luz (“Light Song of Light”), is a highly acclaimed Spanish singer, songwriter, and actress with a career spanning over four decades. Emerging in the 1970s, she initially gained recognition for her participation in the Festival de Benidorm. However, her breakthrough came with the album *Quién sabe dónde* (1983), showcasing a distinctive blend of pop, jazz, and traditional Galician influences – reflecting her roots in Boiro, Galicia.

Casal’s vocal prowess and emotionally resonant interpretations have solidified her status as one of Spain’s most respected artists. She's released over twenty studio albums, achieving multi-platinum status with titles like *Luz* (1988) and *Un Lugar en el Mundo* (1995). Notably, she represented Spain in the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest with "Juego de Amor."
