Lucio Gallo is an Italian composer, pianist, and conductor renowned for his evocative and often minimalist musical style. Born in Bari, Italy in 1953, Gallo initially studied piano and composition at the Conservatorio Niccolò Piccinni before further studies with Luciano Berio and Karlheinz Stockhausen. He’s particularly known for works that explore the intersection of acoustic instruments and electronic soundscapes, frequently incorporating field recordings and subtle textural shifts.

Gallo’s compositions span orchestral pieces, chamber music, solo piano works, and music for theatre and film.
