Louis Demetrius Alvanis (born October 29, 1988) is a Greek-American multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer renowned for his diverse contributions to progressive metal and film scoring. Initially gaining prominence as the guitarist for the instrumental progressive metal band Animals as Leaders from 2007-2014, Alvanis helped shape their signature polyrhythmic and technically demanding sound, appearing on albums like *Weightless* (2009) and *The Joy of Motion* (2011).

Beyond Animals as Leaders, he’s a prolific solo artist releasing critically acclaimed albums such as *Variations I* (2013) and *Terraform* (2016), showcasing his virtuosity on eight-string guitar and exploration of ambient textures. He frequently collaborates with other artists including Tosin Abasi, Plini, and Javier Reyes.
