Lorenzo Viotti is a rapidly ascending Swiss conductor, renowned for his dynamic interpretations and charismatic stage presence. Born in 1990, he initially gained recognition as a pianist before dedicating himself fully to conducting, studying with renowned figures like David Zinman and Kurt Masur. He served as Music Director of the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon (2017-2021), significantly raising their international profile with innovative programming and critically acclaimed performances.

Viotti’s repertoire spans Baroque to contemporary works, though he’s particularly celebrated for his fresh perspectives on Italian opera – Verdi, Puccini, and Rossini feature prominently.
