Leonard Patton (born July 13, 1964), professionally known as Masta Ace, is a highly respected American rapper and producer originating from Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York. Emerging in the late 1980s as part of the Juice Crew, he initially gained recognition for his complex rhyme schemes and storytelling ability showcased on tracks like "Born to Roll."

Ace distinguished himself from contemporaries with a lyrical focus on everyday life, avoiding the prevalent gangsta rap tropes. His debut album *SlaughtaHouse* (1993) is considered a classic of East Coast hip-hop. He further refined his style with projects like *Sittin' on Chrome* (1995) and *Disposable Arts* (2001), the latter exploring themes of artistic integrity and commercialism.

Beyond solo work, Patton formed the group eMC with Stricklin and Wordsworth, releasing critically acclaimed albums. He’s also a prolific producer under aliases like A.S.I., contributing beats to numerous artists.
