Lazcar Volcano is the project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Leo James, originally from Bristol, UK, now based in Berlin. Emerging in the mid-2010s, Lazcar Volcano quickly garnered attention for a unique blend of electronic music incorporating elements of jazz, post-punk, and ambient soundscapes. Early EPs like *Vulkanski* (2016) established a signature style characterized by intricate rhythms, textural synthesizers, and James’s distinctive vocal delivery – often processed and layered.

He signed with Houndstooth Records in 2018, releasing his critically acclaimed debut album *I Am Not A Ghost* which expanded on his established sound with more complex arrangements and introspective lyrical themes. This was followed by *Effigies* (2021), a further exploration of atmospheric production and emotionally resonant songwriting.

Lazcar Volcano has toured extensively across Europe, supporting artists like Rival Consoles and Jon Hopkins. His work has been featured in publications like *The Wire*, *Resident Advisor*, and *Crack Magazine*, praised for its innovative sound design and compelling emotional depth.
