Laurent Maur is a French composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist renowned for his sophisticated blend of jazz, classical, and world music influences. Born in 1978, Maur initially trained classically on piano before expanding into diverse instrumentation including vibraphone, percussion, and electronics. He gained prominence collaborating with artists like Youn Sun Nah, notably co-writing and arranging much of her critically acclaimed album *Same Girl* (2015), which earned a JAZZTIMES Readers’ Poll win.

Maur’s solo work showcases intricate compositions often built around evocative melodies and atmospheric soundscapes. Albums like *Le Baiser Volé* (2018) and *Fragments* (2021) demonstrate his mastery of textural layering and dynamic arrangements. He frequently incorporates field recordings and unconventional instrumentation to create immersive sonic experiences.
