Lalah Hathaway is a Grammy-winning American singer, songwriter, and pianist, renowned for her vocal dexterity and emotive interpretations. Daughter of soul legend Roberta Flack and jazz musician Richard Hathaway, music is deeply ingrained in her lineage. She began her career as a backing vocalist for artists like Mary J. Blige and Patti LaBelle before releasing her self-titled debut album in 1990.

Hathaway’s style blends contemporary R&B with jazz, soul, and gospel influences, showcasing a remarkable five-octave vocal range and improvisational skills.
