Lady Nade (born Nadia Sheikh, 1988) is a British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for her soulful vocals and deeply personal songwriting. Emerging from the Devon music scene, she initially gained recognition as a founding member of the acclaimed folk-soul group, The Nomadic Women, touring extensively across Europe.
Since launching her solo career in 2017 with the EP *Something Wicked*, Lady Nade has cultivated a distinct sound blending elements of soul, jazz, folk, and spoken word. Her lyrical themes often explore identity, belonging, and navigating societal expectations as a British-Somali woman.
She released her debut album *Threads* in 2020, receiving widespread critical acclaim for its vulnerability and musicality. This was followed by *Unwoven* (2023), further solidifying her reputation as a compelling storyteller. Notably, *Unwoven* earned a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize in 2023.
Beyond album releases, Lady Nade frequently collaborates with other artists and is an active advocate for diversity within the music industry.
