Kris Davis is a highly acclaimed pianist, composer, and improviser whose trio – featuring bassist Kirk Knuffke and drummer Gerry Hemingway – represents a cornerstone of contemporary jazz. Davis’s career spans over two decades, marked by a dedication to exploratory music-making and a refusal to be easily categorized. She honed her skills performing with Anthony Braxton, Guillermo Klein, and Jim Black before establishing herself as a bandleader.

The Kris Davis Trio’s sound is characterized by intricate interplay, textural exploration, and a dynamic range from delicate lyricism to powerful free improvisation.
