Experience Kotoa
Kotoa (born Naomi Otsu, October 26, 1998) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and music producer gaining international recognition for her unique blend of city pop, future bass, and electronic music. Initially achieving prominence through self-released tracks on SoundCloud in 2017, she quickly garnered a dedicated online following with songs like “Asleep” and “Kimi No Uta.”
Her debut EP, *Burst*, released in 2019 via LILLIUM Records, further solidified her signature sound – characterized by lush synthesizers, nostalgic melodies reminiscent of 80s Japanese pop, and ethereal vocals. Kotoa’s production work is entirely self-handled, demonstrating considerable technical skill.
She signed with Pony Canyon in 2021 and released her first full-length album *Departure* that same year, receiving critical acclaim for its polished soundscapes and emotional depth. Notably, the track "Departure" was used as the ending theme song for the anime series *Wonder Egg Priority*, significantly boosting her visibility. Kotoa continues to release singles and perform live shows, expanding her fanbase both domestically and abroad with a consistently evolving yet recognizable aesthetic.
