Kirill Karabits is a renowned Ukrainian conductor celebrated for his dynamic interpretations and commitment to both classical masterpieces and contemporary works. Born in Kyiv in 1976, Karabits began his musical journey as a pianist before transitioning to conducting, studying at the Kyiv Conservatory and later refining his craft under prominent maestros. His career gained international momentum when he became Chief Conductor of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in 2013, a position he held until 2021, where he was praised for revitalizing the orchestra’s repertoire with bold programming that included lesser-known Eastern European composers alongside standard classics.

Karabits is distinguished by his meticulous attention to detail, emotional depth, and clarity of orchestral texture. He has a particular affinity for promoting Ukrainian music on the global stage, often featuring works by composers such as Valentin Silvestrov and Myroslav Skoryk. Beyond Bournemouth, he serves as Principal Conductor of the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra and frequently guest-conducts leading ensembles worldwide.

His discography includes critically acclaimed recordings on labels like Ondine and Chandos, noted for their vibrant energy and insightful interpretations.
