Kev Choice is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and educator hailing from Oakland, California, deeply rooted in the Bay Area’s vibrant music scene. Beginning his career as a classically trained pianist, Choice seamlessly blends jazz improvisation with hip-hop production, soul, and funk influences. He gained prominence as the musical director and keyboardist for The Coup, collaborating extensively with Boots Riley for over two decades.

Beyond his work with The Coup, Choice has released several critically acclaimed solo albums including *First Class* (2017) and *The People’s Champion* (2023), showcasing his lyrical prowess as a rapper and his sophisticated compositional skills.
