Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe (KDTU) is a vibrant, long-running funk and soul ensemble led by saxophonist Karl Denson, a veteran of the music scene with a career spanning over three decades. Denson initially gained prominence as a touring member of Lenny Kravitz’s band, a role he continues to hold, alongside consistent work with Page & Plant. KDTU, however, represents his primary creative outlet.

Formed in the early 1990s, KDTU blends classic funk grooves with elements of jazz, soul, and rock. Their sound is characterized by Denson’s energetic stage presence and virtuosic saxophone playing, coupled with tight arrangements and dynamic improvisation. The band has released numerous albums including *Grease*, *The Bridge*, and *Newer Demo*, consistently earning critical acclaim for their live performances and studio recordings.
