Jumpin'up, the production duo comprised of William Steen and Jamie Trench, emerged from the UK garage and dubstep scenes in the early 2000s, quickly forging a unique sound blending intricate 2-step rhythms with influences from jungle, broken beat, and grime. Initially gaining recognition for remixes of artists like Mala and Coki (Digital Mystikz), they solidified their reputation through releases on influential labels like Hyperdub, Skull Disco, and their own burgeoning label, Seventh Sign.

Their signature style centers around complex polyrhythms, heavily processed vocal samples – often pitched and chopped to create melodic textures – and a distinctly atmospheric quality. Albums like *Jumpin'up* (2011) and *Feel The Rush* (2016) showcase this evolution, moving beyond club-focused tracks towards more conceptual and emotionally resonant compositions.
