Joshua Weilerstein is a rapidly ascending American conductor known for his insightful interpretations and dynamic performances spanning orchestral and operatic repertoire. He currently serves as Music Director of the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, a position he assumed in 2018, significantly raising the orchestra’s profile through innovative programming and community engagement.

Weilerstein’s conducting studies were undertaken with renowned figures like David Zinman and Kenneth Kiesler, culminating in winning the prestigious Solti Foundation U.S. Conducting Award in 2017. He has guest conducted with numerous orchestras across North America, including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and Florida Orchestra.
