Jonathan Aasgaard is a Norwegian multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer renowned for his work primarily within the black metal and atmospheric black metal genres. Initially gaining prominence as the guitarist and keyboardist for Ihsahn (Emperor’s Ihsahn), he has become a significant figure in modern extreme metal. Aasgaard’s contributions to Ihsahn’s critically acclaimed albums like *Eremita* (2012) and *Attergang* (2016) showcase his intricate guitar work and atmospheric layering.

Beyond Ihsahn, Aasgaard leads the progressive black metal band Ov Hell, featuring former Dimmu Borgir members. He also performs with several other projects including Sequentia and collaborated with artists like Enslaved.
