John Medeski is a renowned American keyboardist and composer, best known as a founding member of the influential jazz-funk trio Medeski Martin & Wood (MMW). Born in 1965, Medeski has built a distinguished career characterized by his innovative fusion of jazz, funk, blues, and avant-garde elements. His virtuosic command of the Hammond B3 organ, piano, and other keyboards has made him a pivotal figure in contemporary jazz.

Medeski’s style is marked by improvisational creativity and genre-blending versatility, often incorporating groove-based rhythms with experimental sounds. Since forming MMW in the early 1990s alongside bassist Chris Wood and drummer Billy Martin, the group has released over a dozen albums, earning critical acclaim for their energetic live performances and unique approach to jazz fusion.
