Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) was a German composer and musician of the Baroque period. He held numerous prestigious positions throughout his life, including court musician at Weimar, Kapellmeister to Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Köthen, and finally, Thomaskantor in Leipzig – overseeing music for the city’s churches.
