Experience Jerry K. Reed
Jerry K. Reed Hubbard (March 20, 1937 – September 1, 2008) was an American country music singer, guitarist, songwriter, and actor, renowned for his distinctive “snapping” guitar style. Beginning his career as a session guitarist in Nashville during the 1950s and 60s, Reed played on recordings by Eddy Arnold, Patsy Cline, and many others. He transitioned to a solo artist in the late 60s with hits like "Guitar Man," later famously covered by Elvis Presley.
Reed blended country with elements of rock 'n' roll, jazz, and humor, creating a uniquely accessible sound. He achieved significant chart success throughout the 1970s with songs like "Amos Moses" (a #8 pop hit), “When You’re Hot, You’re Hot,” and “East Bound and Down” (from *Smokey and the Bandit*).
A prolific songwriter, Reed penned numerous songs for himself and other artists. Beyond music, he enjoyed a successful acting career starring alongside Burt Reynolds in several action-comedy films including *Smokey and the Bandit* and *Gator*.
