Javier Bruna is a highly respected Spanish jazz pianist and composer, born in Bilbao in 1976. He began formal piano training at age five and quickly distinguished himself, graduating *Summa Cum Laude* from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Bruna’s style is deeply rooted in the post-bop tradition, drawing influence from artists like Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett, yet incorporates elements of Basque folk music and contemporary harmonic explorations.

He has released six critically acclaimed albums as a leader, including “Unspoken” (2016) and “Metamorphosis” (2020), consistently earning praise for his lyrical improvisation and sensitive touch. Beyond his solo work, Bruna is a sought-after sideman, collaborating with prominent figures like Jerry Bergonzi, Ben Monder, and Jorge Pardo. He frequently performs internationally at major jazz festivals including the San Sebastián Jazz Festival and the Getxo Jazz Festival.

Bruna also dedicates significant time to education, leading workshops and masterclasses across Europe. His compositions are noted for their melodic beauty and sophisticated arrangements, solidifying his position as a leading voice in contemporary European jazz.
