Jason Moran is an acclaimed American jazz pianist, composer, and educator known for his innovative blending of traditional jazz with contemporary influences. Born in 1975 in Houston, Texas, Moran emerged as a leading figure in modern jazz through his dynamic performances and boundary-pushing compositions. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, he gained early recognition as a protégé of jazz legend Jaki Byard.
