Ivan Lins is a highly respected Brazilian pianist, composer, arranger, and singer-songwriter, pivotal in the Música Popular Brasileira (MPB) scene since the 1970s. Initially gaining recognition as an arranger for artists like Elis Regina and Chico Buarque, Lins launched his solo career in 1971. His style blends sophisticated harmonic structures influenced by jazz with the melodic richness of Brazilian samba and bossa nova, often incorporating elements of pop.

Lins’ compositions are known for their lyrical depth and emotional resonance. He achieved international acclaim with songs like “Águas de Março” (co-written with Tom Jobim), famously recorded by Elis Regina and later popularized globally by Stevie Wonder as "April Come She Will." Other notable hits include "Começar de Novo" and "O Saravá da Copa."

Throughout his career, Lins has collaborated with numerous prominent musicians, including Ella Fitzgerald and Toots Thielemans.
