Iúri Oliveira is a Portuguese guitarist and composer rapidly gaining international recognition for his innovative approach to Portuguese guitar and flamenco. Born in Lisbon in 1992, Oliveira didn’t begin formal Portuguese guitar studies until age 16, quickly demonstrating exceptional talent. He initially trained under renowned musicians like Pedro de Castro and Ricardo Dias, but broadened his influences significantly by studying flamenco guitar with maestros like Paco de Lucía disciple, Juan Martín.

Oliveira's style blends traditional *fado* techniques with the rhythmic complexities and harmonic language of flamenco, jazz, and Brazilian music. This fusion is showcased across his discography, including his acclaimed debut album “Folias” (2017) and the more recent “Perto” (2021), both released on the Galileo Records label. "Perto" earned him a nomination for Best World Music Album at the prestigious José Afonso Awards in 2022.

He frequently collaborates with prominent artists across genres and performs extensively internationally, notably at major festivals like WOMEX and Festival de Jazz Saint-Louis. Oliveira is also dedicated to education, conducting workshops globally and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with the Portuguese guitar.
