Experience Il Pomo d'Oro

Il Pomo d’Oro is a historically informed performance ensemble specializing in Baroque and early Classical opera. Founded in 2001 by violinist Zefira Giacomo, the group quickly gained international recognition for its vibrant, dramatic interpretations and meticulous research. Initially focused on rediscovering neglected works of composers like Vivaldi and Porpora, Il Pomo d'Oro champions a flexible approach to instrumentation, often utilizing period instruments alongside modern adaptations to achieve optimal sound projection and expressive capabilities.

Their discography, primarily with Deutsche Grammophon, includes critically acclaimed recordings of Handel operas – *Rinaldo*, *Agrippina*, and *Radamisto* – featuring countertenors Andreas Scholl and Franco Fagioli. These recordings frequently topped classical charts. Notably, their 2013 *Rinaldo* was a *Gramophone* Editor’s Choice.

Il Pomo d’Oro collaborates with leading singers and directors, consistently performing at major opera houses and festivals worldwide including the Opernhaus Zürich and the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. The ensemble’s commitment to stylistic authenticity combined with dynamic performance practice sets them apart in the contemporary Baroque revival.
