Experience Huntertones
Huntertones is a Chicago-based instrumental band formed in 2011, rapidly gaining recognition for their vibrant blend of jazz, funk, soul, and improvisation. Comprised of Dan Schlittler (saxophone/vocals), Chris Ott (saxophone/keys), Julian Spraguer (bass), and Mike “Mikey” Mitchell (drums), the quartet initially met while studying at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.
Their sound is characterized by tight arrangements, energetic live performances featuring looping and vocal effects, and a commitment to pushing genre boundaries. Huntertones built a substantial following through extensive touring – over 150 shows annually for years – and consistent online content creation, including popular YouTube videos showcasing their improvisational skills and musicality.
The band has released three studio albums: *Under the Influence* (2014), *Casualties of Funk* (2017), and *Elemental* (2020). They were finalists in the 2016 John Coltrane Jazz Competition and have shared stages with prominent artists like Snarky Puppy and Cory Henry.
