Heri Palos is a highly sought-after Cuban percussionist, composer, and vocalist renowned for his mastery of the *batá* drums – sacred instruments central to the Yoruba religious tradition of Cuba. Born in Havana, Palos began his musical journey within the *santería* community, deeply immersing himself in the rhythmic and spiritual aspects of the tradition. He rose to prominence as a member of the influential Afro-Cuban jazz group, Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club®, touring internationally and appearing on their acclaimed recordings from 1997 onward.

Beyond Buena Vista, Palos has collaborated with a diverse range of artists including Ry Cooder, Nick Gold, and Ibrahim Ferrer.
