Han-Na Chang is a distinguished South Korean cellist and conductor renowned for her exceptional musicianship and dynamic career in classical music. Born in 1982, Chang began her cello studies at an early age, quickly rising to international prominence with her expressive playing and technical mastery. She gained widespread recognition after winning the prestigious Rostropovich International Cello Competition in 1994 at just 12 years old.
Chang’s style is characterized by a passionate yet nuanced approach, blending emotional depth with precise technique. Her performances are noted for their lyrical phrasing and vibrant energy, captivating audiences worldwide. Beyond her solo career, Han-Na has also established herself as an accomplished conductor. She served as the Music Director of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra from 2017 to 2020 and currently holds the position of Chief Conductor of the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra in Norway.
