Experience Haifa Symphony Orchestra
The Haifa Symphony Orchestra (ISO), founded in 1950, is Israel’s northernmost professional orchestra and a cornerstone of cultural life in the Haifa region. Emerging from earlier musical societies, it quickly established itself as a vital artistic force, initially performing primarily for new immigrants. Throughout its history, the ISO has been led by prominent conductors including Paul Ben-Haim and Yoav Talmi.
Known for a diverse repertoire spanning Baroque to contemporary works, the ISO frequently champions Israeli composers alongside established classical masters. They are particularly recognized for their commitment to educational outreach programs, serving thousands of children and adults annually through concerts and workshops.
The orchestra performs regularly at the Haifa Auditorium, and tours internationally, representing Israeli musical talent globally. Significant achievements include numerous recordings, collaborations with internationally acclaimed soloists like Itzhak Perlman and Joshua Bell, and consistent critical acclaim for its vibrant performances. The ISO continues to evolve under the current Music Director, Dan Ettinger, maintaining a dedication to artistic excellence and community engagement.
