The Greensboro Symphony Orchestra (GSO), established in 1948, is the premier professional orchestra serving the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. Rooted in a commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement, the GSO performs a diverse repertoire spanning classical masterworks, pops concerts, and innovative contemporary compositions.

Currently under the dynamic leadership of Music Director Dmitry Sitkovetsky since 2020, the orchestra boasts a core of highly skilled professional musicians alongside collaborations with nationally and internationally recognized guest artists. The GSO regularly performs at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts, as well as other venues throughout Greensboro.

Throughout its history, the GSO has consistently received critical acclaim for its performances and educational outreach programs. Notably, it maintains a robust youth orchestra program fostering musical talent in future generations. The orchestra has released recordings and actively participates in community partnerships, aiming to make orchestral music accessible to all.
