Franck Avitabile is a French multi-instrumentalist, composer, and record producer renowned for his pioneering work in electronic music, particularly within the acid jazz and lounge genres. Emerging in the early 1990s, Avitabile initially gained recognition as a keyboardist and arranger for French artists like MC Solaar and Vanessa Paradis. He co-founded the influential group St Germain in 1996 alongside Ludovic Navarre, contributing significantly to their critically acclaimed and commercially successful album *Tourist* (2000), blending jazz harmonies with house beats.
