Experience Florian Paul & Die Kapelle der letzten Hoffnung
Florian Paul & Die Kapelle der letzten Hoffnung (Florian Paul & The Orchestra of Last Hope) is a German musical project led by composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Florian Paul. Emerging in the early 2000s, the project gained prominence through collaborations with Einstürzende Neubauten’s Blixa Bargeld, featuring him prominently on several albums.
Their sound is a unique blend of post-rock, chamber pop, and electronic elements, often incorporating spoken word and found sounds. Early work leaned heavily into melancholic atmospheres and experimental instrumentation. Later albums, like “Zenith” (2017) and “Hotel Morphine” (2023), demonstrate a refined production style while retaining their signature emotional depth.
Paul’s compositions have been featured in film and television soundtracks, including Wim Wenders’ documentary "Buena Vista Social Club" (additional music). He's also collaborated with artists like Christian Fennesz and Ryuichi Sakamoto. The project has toured extensively across Europe, building a dedicated following for its immersive live performances. Their discography includes numerous albums released on labels like City Centre Offices and Staubgold.
