Esther Swift is a Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, gaining recognition for her intricate vocal layering and uniquely crafted indie-folk sound. Originally from rural Manitoba, she self-released her debut EP, *The Gardener*, in 2016, quickly attracting attention for its raw emotionality and sophisticated arrangements.

Swift’s music blends elements of folk, jazz, and chamber pop, often featuring looped vocals creating rich harmonic textures – a technique she’s become known for. She independently produces much of her work, showcasing a strong DIY ethic. Her full-length album *Old Friends* (2020) expanded on this style, earning critical acclaim from publications like *Exclaim!* and garnering nominations for the 2021 JUNO Awards in the Contemporary Roots Album of the Year category.

Beyond studio albums, Swift frequently performs live looping sets, demonstrating impressive instrumental versatility on guitar, piano and various other instruments.
