Enzo Favata is a highly respected Canadian jazz pianist, composer, and educator renowned for his deeply emotive and technically virtuosic playing. Born in Montréal, he began formal piano studies at age five and quickly distinguished himself, earning a scholarship to Berklee College of Music. Favata’s career spans over four decades, encompassing performances with jazz luminaries like Phil Woods, Lee Konitz, and Dave Liebman.

His musical style is characterized by a blend of post-bop improvisation, lyrical melodies influenced by Bill Evans, and a distinctive harmonic palette rooted in both jazz tradition and contemporary exploration. He frequently incorporates elements of world music – particularly Armenian influences stemming from his ancestry – into his compositions.

Favata has released numerous critically acclaimed albums as a leader, including "In the Moment" (2003) and “Ancestral Echoes” (2018), showcasing both solo piano work and ensemble performances. He's also an active educator, holding positions at Concordia University and McGill University. Awards include multiple Juno Award nominations and recognition from the Montréal Jazz Festival for his contributions to Canadian jazz.
