Enrique Mazzola is an Italian-born conductor rapidly gaining international recognition for his dynamic interpretations and insightful musicianship. Trained at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Mazzola began his career focusing on opera, serving as Music Director of Teatro Comunale di Bologna (2014-2016) and Deutsche Oper Berlin (2017-2023).

His repertoire spans a broad range, with particular strengths in Italian and French opera – notably Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, and Massenet – but increasingly encompassing German Romantic works like Wagner and Strauss. Mazzola is praised for his sensitivity to vocal nuance and dramatic pacing.

Beyond operatic leadership, he frequently conducts leading orchestras worldwide including the London Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestre National de France. He currently holds the position of Chief Conductor of the Orchestre National de Lyon (since 2023).
