Elizabeth Hainen is a highly acclaimed American classical guitarist, recognized internationally for her expressive interpretations and technical mastery. Born in 1975, she began guitar studies at age seven and quickly distinguished herself, winning numerous competitions including the 1994 Guitar Foundation of America International Competition – a feat rarely achieved by someone so young.

Hainen’s repertoire spans a broad range, from the standard classical works of Bach, Sor, and Villa-Lobos to contemporary compositions written specifically for her. She is particularly known for championing new music and has premiered pieces by composers like William Kanengiser and Bryan Johanson.

A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory with a Master’s degree, Hainen maintains an active performance schedule globally, appearing as a soloist with orchestras and in recital halls worldwide. She’s also a dedicated educator, holding a faculty position at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.
