Elisabeth Brauß is a German-born, internationally acclaimed harpist renowned for her adventurous and virtuosic approach to the instrument. Trained at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg with Evi Eva Baumgärtel and later with Susanna Mildonian in Paris, Brauß quickly distinguished herself through a dedication to contemporary music alongside a deep respect for the classical repertoire.

Her career encompasses solo performances with leading orchestras including the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, and the SWR Symphony Orchestra. She frequently collaborates with ensembles like Klangforum Wien and has premiered numerous works written specifically for her by composers such as Olga Neuwirth, Kaija Saariaho, and Georges Aperghis.

Brauß’s stylistic range is remarkably broad; she seamlessly navigates between delicate impressionism, extended techniques pushing the harp’s sonic boundaries, and historically informed performance practice. She is particularly noted for her interpretations of Debussy and Ravel. A dedicated educator, she holds a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.
