Elias Haslanger is a Canadian guitarist and composer renowned for his work spanning jazz, improvised music, and experimental soundscapes. Born in 1978, he’s a central figure in Montreal’s vibrant creative music scene. Haslanger initially gained recognition as a member of the influential free improvisation ensemble, Inflorescence, alongside Tristan Honsinger and Guillaume Pierre.

His solo practice focuses on extended techniques with the electric guitar, often employing prepared guitar and electronic processing to create complex textures and dynamic sonic environments. He’s released numerous albums as a leader or co-leader on labels like Constellation Records (with Irreversible Entanglements), Another Timbre, and Room40.
