Elena Urioste is a critically acclaimed American violinist renowned for her expressive performances and commitment to expanding the violin repertoire. Born in 1991, she gained international attention as the 2014 Sphinx Competition First Prize winner, becoming the first solo artist in the competition’s history to win both the Senior Division and the Bach Competition.
Urioste’s concert career encompasses performances with major orchestras including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and National Symphony Orchestra. She is a dedicated advocate for contemporary music, commissioning and premiering works by composers like Florence Price (rediscovering and performing her Violin Concerto No. 2) and Quinn Mason.
Her debut album, *Dreams & Visions*, featuring works by Price and Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, received widespread praise for its artistry and historical significance. A graduate of Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School, Urioste actively engages in educational outreach programs, aiming to foster inclusivity within classical music.
