Elchin Shirinov is an Azerbaijani jazz pianist and composer rapidly gaining international recognition. Born in Baku in 1982, Shirinov initially trained classically before dedicating himself to jazz, graduating from the Baku Academy of Music and later studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston on a full scholarship. He blends traditional Azerbaijani *mugham* with contemporary jazz harmonies, creating a unique and captivating sound.

Shirinov’s discography includes critically acclaimed albums like “Outside the Frame” (2016) and “From Darkness to Light” (2019), showcasing both original compositions and innovative arrangements of Azerbaijani folk melodies. He frequently performs solo and with his trio, touring extensively across Europe, Asia, and the United States, including appearances at prominent jazz festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival and North Sea Jazz Festival.

Known for his virtuosic improvisation and emotionally resonant playing, Shirinov has collaborated with renowned musicians like Esperanza Spalding and John Patitucci.
