Ed Jackson is a British multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer known primarily for his work as the core member of the post-rock band, Maximo Park. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, he initially played drums before transitioning to bass guitar, becoming a defining element of Maximo Park’s sound since their formation in 2000.

Jackson’s playing style is characterized by melodic, often intricate basslines that complement the band’s angular guitar work and Paul Smith’s distinctive vocals. Beyond Maximo Park’s six studio albums – including critically acclaimed releases like *A Certain Trigger* (2005) and *Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out* (2009) – he has also pursued solo projects.

He released his debut solo album, *Wonderland*, in 2018, showcasing a more ambient and electronic influenced soundscape than his work with Maximo Park. This album demonstrated his versatility as a composer and producer. Jackson frequently contributes to film scores and has collaborated with other artists across diverse genres, solidifying his position as a respected figure in contemporary music.
