Dimitri Naïditch is a French-Russian percussionist renowned for his innovative approach to contemporary classical music and extended percussion techniques. Born in Paris in 1964, Naïditch initially trained classically on piano before dedicating himself to percussion, studying with renowned figures like Sylvio Gualda and Jean-Claude Casadesus. He quickly distinguished himself through a virtuosic command of a vast array of instruments – not only traditional orchestral percussion, but also found objects, prepared instruments, and electronic elements.

Naïditch’s career spans decades of collaborations with leading composers including Pierre Boulez, Kaija Saariaho, and Tristan Murail, often premiering their works specifically written for him. He is a frequent soloist with major orchestras worldwide and has recorded extensively for labels like Harmonia Mundi and Naxos.

His performances are characterized by theatricality, physicality, and a deep exploration of timbre. Beyond concert performance, Naïditch is actively involved in educational workshops and pushing the boundaries of percussive sound through improvisation and interdisciplinary projects. He holds a professorship at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, shaping the next generation of percussionists.
