Experience Diana Cooper

Diana Cooper (born October 15, 1953) is a British singer-songwriter and keyboardist renowned for her pioneering work in the space disco and ambient genres. Emerging in the late 1970s, Cooper initially gained recognition as a session musician before releasing her influential debut album, *Diana*, in 1980. This record, and subsequent albums like *Heavenly Sounds* (1981) and *Wild & Peaceful* (1982), blended ethereal vocals with synthesized soundscapes, creating a distinctly atmospheric and futuristic sound.

Cooper’s style is characterized by its dreamy quality, often incorporating themes of spirituality, nature, and cosmic exploration. She was an early adopter of MIDI technology, utilizing it to craft layered arrangements. While initially achieving cult status, her music experienced a resurgence in popularity during the 2010s with rediscovery by electronic music enthusiasts and sampling by artists like The Weeknd (“Starboy”).

She largely retired from music in the mid-1980s to pursue studies in sacred geometry and healing modalities but returned to performing live in the 2010s, captivating new audiences with her timeless sound.
